Da Emilio je klasickou reštauráciou v Ríme, ktorá je rodinným podnikom, a nájdete ju na ulici via Alessandria 
189. Táto reštaurácia je veľmi odlišná od štýlových a vyblýskaných miest, ktorých nájdete po celom Ríme neúrekom. Toto miesto ponúka atmosféru starého dobrého Ríma, ktorú možno poznáte z neorealistických filmov. Dokonca aj menu, ktoré je nespočetnekrát upravované ceruzkou, vyzerá ako niečo, čo by ste našli skôr v nejakom múzeu gastronómie 
. To platí aj pre vínnu kartu.
Emilio, majiteľ, príjemný a úplne typický-starý-dobrý chlapík, sa stará o miesto s neustálou kontrolu, či si jeho hostia čo najviac užívajú. Tiež veľmi rád spomína na časy, keď si Aldo Fabrizi, slávny taliansky herec, zvykol dávať obed u Emilia. Na stene si určite všimnete aj fotku Emiliovej manželky, ktorá tu ešte stále varí, s nezabudnuteľným Aldom. Odporúčam, ak ho náhodou nepoznáte, pozrite si skvelý film Roma, cittá aperta.
Na tomto mieste nájdete všetky typické jedlá tradičnej rímskej kuchyne: od cestovín ako Bucatini alla carbonara (hrubšie duté špagety so slaninkou, vajíčkami, čiernym korením a ovčím syrom), Fettuccine alla papalina (cestoviny s hráškom, vajíčkami, syrom a šunkou) alebo, ak si trúfate: Rigatoni con la pajata (pajata je rímske meno pre črevá ešte neodstaveného jahňaťa, ktoré ešte stále obsahujú mlieko, dusia sa v paradajkovej omáčke… nech vás popis, prosím, neodradí, je to vynikajúce jedlo!) až po hlavný chod ako Saltimbocca (názov znamená niečo ako “skacká v ústach” a ide o teľacie kotlety so šunkou a šalviou), či Braciolette a scottadito (grilované jahňacie kotlety) alebo ďalší typ pre odvážnych - Coda alla vaccinara (hovädzí chvost dusený na víne a paradajkovej omáčke, je to tiež vynikajúci pokrm).
Ak si chcete dať nejakú typickú rímsku večeru, dovoľte Emiliovi alebo jednému z jeho čašníkov, aby vám poradili ohľadom jedál. Z predjedál by som osobne odporučil Alici Marinate (surové sardely naložené v citróne, octe, cesnaku, petržlene a čiernom korení). No, v rímskej tradícii sa používajú menej, takže môžete vyskúšať nejaké chutné ryby z dennej ponuky, ktorá sa mení podľa dostupnosti na trhu.
Čo sa týka ceny – za prvý a druhý chod spolu s vínom by ste mali počítať s 20-30 eurami na osobu. Keďže v tejto časti, kde sídli reštaurácia, sú rôzne úrady, bude lepšie, ak si na obed a pre istotu aj na večeru rezervujete stôl osobne alebo na čísle 06/8558977.
