Ak chcete trošku nabúrať predvianočný stereotyp, vyskúšajte predvianočné nákupy a atmosféru v Londýne. Určite 
budete híkať nad nádhernou výzdobou, výborne nakúpite, nos vám pohladí vôňa pečených gaštanov a teplých mandlí obalených v cukre, no hlavne si užijete tú pravú vianočnú atmosféru za zvukov vianočných piesní a kolied.
Ak chcete dobre nakúpiť a užiť si nádherné osvetlenie, určite sa vydajte na nákupný maratón do ulíc Regents Street a Oxford Street. Obe ulice majú už pomerne slušnú tradíciu rozsvecovania: od päťdesiatych rokov minulého storočia. Tu nakúpite, aj keby ste nechceli

Vianočné trhy v Londýne je kapitola sama o sebe… Neurobíte zle, ak začnete na The South Bank. Od London Eye/Westminster Bridge k The Royal Festival Hall postretávate všakovakých pouličných umelcov, ktorí vás pobavia v jedinečnom vianočnom prostredí. Trhov a atrakcií je nepreberné množstvo, stačí si len vybrať podľa chuti a nálady. Spomenieme niektoré, ktoré podľa nás stoja za hriech:
-Real Food Market v Covent Garden: Toto miesto je raj pre všetkých labužníkov! Nájdete tu čerstvé potraviny a produkty od najváženejších anglických producentov. Ak chcete ochutnať niečo špeciálne, určite si dajte hubový sendvič od The Spore Boys, koláčiky od Sugar Grain, či špeciálne syry z mliekárne Neal’s Yard Dairy. No a určite neobíďte stánky týchto výrobcov: The Garlic Farm, Pie Minister, Arabica Food & Spice Company, Gujarati Rasoi a Crumbs & Doilies. Taktiež tu nájdete stánok s vianočnými dekoráciami a obrusmi pre vaše slávnostné stolovanie. Trh je otvorený každý štvrtok a piatok, ale tiež aj 16.12. a 19.12. Otváracie hodiny sú od 12.00 do 19.00 vo štvrtky a do 19.30 v piatky.
-Borough Market: Neďaleko zastávky metra London Bridge nájdete tento malý raj. Je známy ako jeden z najväčších a najlepších trhov pre fajnšmekrov a maškrtníkov.Vajíčka z voľného chovu, mliečne výrobky, špeciálne syry a ovocie, zeleninka, pivko a jablčný cider, mäsko, kvety a med – toto je len zopár vecí, z ktorých si môžete vybrať na tomto trhu. Kolorit budú dopĺňať koncerty a predstavenia. Otváracie hodiny nájdete tu.
-Oxford Street Christmas Market: Tento trh nájdete medzi zastávkami metra Bond Street a Marble Arch. Pod krásnymi drevenými stánkami nájdete inšpirácie na vianočné darčeky z celej Európy: od strieborných šperkov a ručne vyrobených hračiek až po jedinečné klobúky a šatky. Tento trh otvoril svoje brány tento rok prvýkrát, ale určite bude taký populárny ako jeho “bratia” na South Bank a v Hyde Park. Trh je otvorený do 3.1.2010. Otváracie hodiny sú od 10.00 do 21.00 utorok až sobota a od 10.00 do 19.00 v nedeľu. Trh je zatvorený 30.11., 7.12., 14.12., 25.12. a 1.1.
-Traditional German Christmas Market: Nájdete ho pri zastávke metra Hyde Park Corner. Odchlipnite si z teplého gluhwein alebo si vychutnajte chladené bavorské pivečko. A zajedajte ich Bratwurst-om, či pečeným prasiatkom. Ako dezert si dajte pražené orechy, či medovníčky, palacinky alebo iné typické sladkosti. Srdce potešíte ručne vyrobenými hračkami z dreva a cínu, maľovaným sklom, sviečkami rôznych tvarov a veľkostí, ručne vyrobenou keramikou a šperkami a mnohými ďalšími drobnosťami. Trh je otvorený sedem dní v týžni od 10.00 do 22.00 do 3.1. a za zvukov kolied pri osvetlení sviečkami si môžete vychutnať neopakovateľnú atmosféru Vianoc.
V Hyde Parku nájdete aj zábavný park Winter Wonderland, kde si užijete kopec zábavy. Nájdete tu najväčšie klzisko v meste, ale aj vychytenú atrakciu londýnskej zimy: obrovské “ruské” 60-metrové kolo, z ktorého budete mať super výhľad. Tohtoročným prírastkom je cirkus od Zippa, kde si môžete pozrieť fantastické cirkusové predstavenie vo vyhrievanom šapitó. Vstupné do zábavného parku je od 4,50 do 20,50 libier.
