Ešte v júni sme vás s veľkou dychtivosťou 
informovali o tejto najväčšej a najprestížnejšej fotografickej súťaži pre 
novinárov a o miestach vo svete, kde si túto výstavu môžete pozrieť. Teraz konečne po jedenástich rokoch má aj Bratislava tú česť hostiť toto jedinečné podujatie v rámci Mesiaca fotografie.
Nezávislá nadácia World Press Photo Foundation so sídlom v Amsterdame organizuje už od roku 1955 súťaž o najlepšie novinárske fotografie z celého sveta. Každoročne sa meniaca medzinárodná porota sa skladá z 13 členov, ktorí posudzujú snímky fotografov z agentúr, denníkov a magazínov z celého sveta. Tento rok sa do súťaže zapojilo 5019 profesionálnych fotografov zo 125 krajín sveta s 80 536 fotografiami. Výber prezentovaných snímok a fotosérií prináša prostredníctvom silných obrazov najvýznamnejšie udalosti uplynulého roka z oblasti politiky, kultúry, športu, životného prostredia či vedy.
Na výstave si môžete prezrieť 196 fotografií. Výstava potrvá do 26.11.2009 a nájdete ju v Dome umenia na Nám. SNP 12 v Bratislave denne v časoch od 11.00-19.00 hod. Vstupné je 4,90 eur.
